Do I need to have any experience to take part?
No experience is necessary; our classes are designed for mixed abilities, including complete beginners. You will notice your fitness and strength improving over the weeks.
Do I need to be strong?
No, the courses are designed for all fitness levels. You will notice your strength improving week by week as we incorporate conditioning exercises and equipment uses including ropes, into our training sessions.
Is it safe?
Yes, Aerial Arts are just as safe as other recreational sports as long as you listen to our instructors. Our instructors will look after you and more sure that you only attempt movements you are capable off completing. We are fully insured and use specialist equipment which is provided by renowned aerial arts suppliers. Please note that we do not allow students on any of our apparatus without crashmats underneath as a safety precaution.

Do you have classes for different levels of ability?
Yes, we run a variety of courses for various levels; from Beginners to Improvers. Please refer to our Courses/Book Now page or contact us if you have any queries.
Where can I try your Aerial Art courses?
We have our very own studio, click here for the address. All Aerial Southampton’s classes can be found on our courses/book now page.
Please note that we also have 2 portal rigs which travel with us up and down the country to attend festivals and events. If you wish to book us for an event please contact us.
Are there changing room facilities?
Yes, we have a shared area where female, male and disabled toilets are available to use.
How long are the courses/classes?
Classes usually last 60 minutes however this can vary. Our courses are usually 5 or 6 weeks long, however again this can vary. Please refer to our Courses/Book Now page for further details.
How much do courses cost?
Class prices vary; please refer to our courses page for more details.
Can I watch a class before booking on?
Yes, of course you can - Visitors are welcome to watch as long as they do not disrupt the class. The best way to really experience what the class is about is to give it a try!
How do I join a course?

What do I need to wear?
Comfortable sports clothing is a must, leggings and a leotard are ideal however not essential. It is advisable to wear long leggings or trousers to prevent friction on the legs. Feet need to be bare and all jewellery will need to be removed before the class.
What can I expect in my first Aerial Silks class?
In your first class you can expect to learn two basic climbs on the silks, and a key move call “Foot Lock”. From Foot Lock you can add on other impressive moves that are fairly simple, even for beginners.
What to expect in my first Aerial Hoop lesson?
In your first lesson you will learn how to mount and dismount the hoop safely, as well as learn a couple of Aerial Hoop poses. It is common to find the hoop a bit painful when you are beginning, as the hoop itself is a very hard surface. It is advised to bring spare layers to add cushioning if needed.
How many students do you have per class/equipment?
The class size can vary depending on the number of instructors we have teaching. We always adhere to no more than 3 students per equipment and we ensure that there are sufficient instructors so that all students receive the required amount of guidance and attention.
Is Aerial Silks/Hoop/Rope just for women?

Do you offer additional sessions outside of the regular course dates/times?
Yes, we regularly offer practice sessions on the weekends to our current students. These are supervised sessions with no tuition, it is an opportunity for you to practice your skills learnt from your previous sessions/courses.

Yes, we regularly offer taster sessions for new students wanting to give it a go. Please refer to our Taster sessions page for further details.
